The Montreux Pediatric Medical Center opens its doors in February 2022. The combination of conventional and complementary medicine is at the heart of this medical center.

Our therapies

Therapeutic eurythmy, also known as curative eurythmy (from the German: Therapeutische Eurythmie und Heileurythmie), is a method which, through movement, cares for the whole human being: body, soul and spirit. Precise movements and gestures are initiated by phonemes of the alphabet, colors, poetry, rhythms, sounds and musical intervals.

This art therapy is an effective remedy for all ages and all kinds of pathologies, whether physical, psychological or mental, and whatever their severity. Movements can also be performed for the person, or by guiding their limbs when they are unable to do so.

Eurythmy, an art therapy linked to anthroposophy, aims to restore harmony and balance to the human being.

MUSIC THERAPY

Music therapy is a care, assistance, support and re-education practice that involves caring for people with communication or relationship difficulties. It uses sound mediation, musical or otherwise, to open up or restore communication and expression within the relationship, in both the verbal and non-verbal registers.

Music therapy does not claim to cure an illness, but it has already proved its worth in improving the patient's daily life. It does, however, have a proven track record in improving the patient's day-to-day life, and can make a considerable contribution to psychological well-being in the fight against illness.

Because it reaches people "at the heart of themselves", music is particularly effective in helping people who have difficulty communicating, for whatever reason, to break out of their isolation.

There are two possible complementary approaches to music therapy:

• Active" music therapy, which involves using different instruments or sound mediators to help people express themselves through sound, music and the body. The person, in relationship with the music therapist, lets their creativity, self-expression and feelings flow.
• Receptive" music therapy, based on listening to music, enables psychomusical relaxation and a refocusing on oneself.
